1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use related browser technologies — such as pixels and tags — that read or set identifiers in your browser to recognise your device on return visits.

We group the technologies we use into three categories: strictly necessary, analytics, and advertising. Only strictly necessary cookies are set without your consent in regions where consent is required.

2. How We Ask for Your Consent

Your choices depend on where you are. For visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we operate on an opt-in basis: no analytics or advertising technologies run until you accept them. Until you make a choice, only strictly necessary cookies are active and Google Consent Mode is set to 'denied' by default.

For visitors elsewhere (including the United States), we operate on an opt-out basis: analytics and advertising are enabled by default, and you can switch them off at any time.

Where consent is required, we show a consent banner on your first visit. Choosing 'Accept' enables analytics and advertising; choosing 'Reject' keeps them off. Your choice is remembered for six months, after which we ask again.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the 'Cookie preferences' link in the website footer. In opt-out regions, the same control lets you opt out.

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the site to function and to remember your privacy choices. They do not require consent and cannot be switched off.

rielto_consent — stores your cookie choice (accept or reject) and the consent regime that applied, so we honour it across pages and visits. Retained for six months.

rielto_regime — records whether your region is opt-in or opt-out, so the correct default behaviour is applied. Short-lived (about one day).

4. Analytics — Google Analytics 4 (GA4)

When enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. GA4 sets cookies to measure page views and interactions in an aggregated way.

GA4 only loads after consent in opt-in regions, and runs by default in opt-out regions. We wire Google Consent Mode v2 so that analytics signals reflect your choice. Absent the relevant configuration, this technology does not load.

5. Advertising — Meta Pixel

When enabled, we use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and to show relevant ads to people who have visited the site. The Pixel sets and reads the following cookies:

_fbp — a first-party cookie that identifies your browser to Meta for advertising and measurement. Typically retained for up to 90 days.

_fbc — a first-party cookie derived from an ad-click identifier (fbclid) in the URL when you arrive from a Meta ad, used to attribute the visit. Typically retained for up to 90 days.

The Pixel only loads after consent in opt-in regions, and runs by default in opt-out regions. Where you consent, it may send hashed, non-reversible information (such as your email) to Meta to improve ad matching. It does not load without the relevant configuration.

6. Server-Side Conversion Measurement — Meta Conversions API

When you complete a purchase, we send a server-side 'Purchase' event to Meta through the Conversions API. This happens on our servers, not in your browser, so it does not set additional cookies on your device.

This event is only sent when your consent allows it: for opt-in regions, only if you consented; for opt-out regions, unless you opted out. Any customer information included is hashed and non-reversible before it is sent. If you did not consent where consent is required, no personal data is sent.

7. Managing or Withdrawing Your Consent

Use the 'Cookie preferences' link in the footer to reopen your choices and accept, reject, or withdraw consent at any time. Your updated choice takes effect immediately and is remembered for six months.

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the site from remembering your privacy choice.
